ENSURING NEBRASKA ELECTIONS ARE FAIR, RELIABLE, AND TRANSPARENT:

Secretary Gale Made Unprecedented Improvements to Nebraska’s Election System, Using $22 Million in Federal Funding.
Secretary Gale brought Nebraska into compliance with the federal Help America Vote Act and earned an “A” rating from federal election officials. The changes were accomplished without cost to Nebraska counties.

Secretary Gale Has Protected the Accuracy of Elections.
Using federal grant funds, Secretary Gale purchased new optical-scanning equipment for each county so ballots would be counted accurately.  Random auditing has confirmed the accuracy of Nebraska’s vote tabulation equipment. 

Secretary Gale Improved Accessibility for Disabled Voters.
Secretary Gale purchased specialized voting equipment for each polling place that allowed disabled voters to vote in privacy for the first time. He brought all Nebraska polling places into compliance with ADA code.

Secretary Gale Created a Statewide Voter Registration System.
The system pools each county’s voter registrations online to improve election administration. The system eliminates duplicate registrations and prevents registration fraud
by database cross-checking with licensing and law enforcement agencies.

as Chair of three boards that license some 40,000 state licenses from notaries to realtors.

As Chair of the State Records Board, Secretary Gale has been responsible for increased and improved online access to state government information and services. This makes it possible for citizens to access state government 24/7 from their offices and homes.
